Full course description
Teaching a distance learning course doesn't mean you must start from scratch. In fact, this training module emphasizes the many ways in which you can adapt existing content from your curriculum and tweak it to be suitable in a distance classroom. While certain design elements and implementation practices will necessarily change, you might be surprised to find that much of your curriculum translates into a distance or blended environment. Moving through concepts such as backward design, usability testing, and student engagement, the module helps educators prepare their course for online or blended delivery, whether synchronous or asynchronous. Additionally, you will review common technology concerns including managing an LMS, communicating effectively with students over distance, and creating supports for students who experience technology hiccups. You will leave the training with a direct-to-classroom Unit design ready to use in your distance or blended environment.
